Have you ever thought about how the pajamas you put on your child can help or hurt your sleep coaching efforts? I have been thinking about this recently since it is not something I always bring up in my sleep consultations. There are some definite advantages and disadvantages to certain pajamas, from both an ease of use and possible health standpoint, so let’s discuss them. And make sure you read until the end of the post – I had the privilege of being sent a pair of pajamas that I believe will definitely help you in your sleep coaching and I have a discount code for you!
One piece or Two Piece?
Some of this is a personal preference, but I believe there may be advantages to a 2 piece, especially when you are working on quick diaper changes or if your child sometimes leaks out of the diaper. To be able to keep the top part on your baby while changing clothes is definitely an advantage. Of course, a one piece with snaps can be unsnapped from the bottom only and the top would be left closed. The only problems with that come if you have to change the whole thing, and if you do not like snaps!!
I encourage you to use pajamas made of organic cotton. Did you know that about 25 percent of the world’s insecticide use and more than 10 percent of the world’s pesticide goes to cotton crops? http://www.motherearthnews.com/nature-and-environment/organic-cotton-benefits.aspx Not only are you doing good for the environment by buying organic, you are doing good for your baby since they will not be exposed to other chemicals that conventional cotton pajamas are exposed to in the manufacturing process.
A Recommendation for an Organic Cotton Pajama
I was lucky enough to be sent a sample of organic cotton pajamas by Baby Essentials and my only regret is that my kids are too big to wear them! Not only are they organic cotton, they are ADORABLE!! The sample they sent are also 2 piece and the shirt snaps which means you do not have to worry about getting it over your baby’s head in the middle of the night if it needs to be changed. I even like the packaging, it came in a recyclable cute gift box. They also have cute dresses and blankets, all made from organic cotton.
And now, a great treat – Baby Essentials has offered my readers a discount code for their organic cotton pajamas.
